Brother's Love

He lifted me from my mother's lap
And cuddled me into a warm hug
He watched me take a baby nap
And fell asleep on the matted rug

He took a pie and helped me eat
And held my hand for the first walk
I won a prize, he gave a treat
And sat there hearing my mumbling talk

We grew up and saw good times fade
Innocence vanished and even friends betrayed
His wrist still tied in the silken thread
He always stood beside paving the way i tread

Time passed, dawn broke and it my wedding day brought
With excitement was a fear of the world to which I didn't belong
He was still by my side and tied my wedding knot
And finally gave my fiance, my hand, he had held for so long!!
